We’re delighted to announce that we have retained our Michelin star!
Jack & Beth are over joyed with the news and would like to thank Kath & Liam for the wonderful opportunity so far. It’s a team effort achieving a high accolade such as this, and they would like to congratulate everyone that works and supports ‘The Cottage’ for their efforts. We couldn’t do it without you.
According to the guide: ‘As you make your way up the Whinlatter Pass, you will find this remote black and white inn that boasts some fabulous Lakeland views – best enjoyed from a seat in the conservatory. The cooking comes in the form of a tasting menu and makes use of local produce, with every part of the ingredient put to use. Dishes are well-conceived and blend classical execution with a subtle modernity that highlights a variety of flavours and textures. It’s a cosy little place, with a range of bedrooms available if you wish to stay the night.’
And it doesn’t stop there. This has given Jack, Beth and the team the drive to move forward and see what else they can achieve. They hope to see you along their journey.
It was a glittering night for Cumbria, with The Lake Road Kitchen in Ambleside and Cedar Tree by Hrishikesh Desai at Farlam Hall Hotel joining the other 11 Michelin starred restaurants. These additions further establish Cumbria as the foodie capital of the UK outside of London, boasting the most Michelin stars outside of the capital. What a place to be!
