Well, what a start to 2016!
The Cottage in the Wood has been voted Britain’s favourite place to stay by the readers of Landlove magazine. The magazine celebrates the beauty and traditions of the British countryside. It offers seasonal British recipe ideas, explores the most interesting places in the British Isles, rediscovers local traditions and customs, includes practical advice and inspiration for those who garden and love crafts as well as celebrating the work of traditional craftsmen and artisan producers.
Since October 2015, LandLove readers have been voting in their thousands to crown their countryside champions for the second year in a row, and finally the results are in.
‘The Cottage’ achieved first place in the Favourite Place to Stay category and appears alongside other category winners such as Barbour (Britain’s favourite outdoor clothing) and The National Botanic Garden of Wales (Britain’s Favourite Gardens).
It is always wonderful to receive an award. Providing hospitality and taking care of people is very fulfilling in itself. However, it is particularly rewarding when chosen by a readership and publication whose values and beliefs we so ardently share; a love for nature and the diversity of the countryside.
